A little about me...

Sara Käser, Violoncello, 1987*, CH-Biel

Lives as a freelance cellist and music teacher in Emmenbrücke (Lucerne). She is an improviser and interpreter with the focus on Contemporary, Classical, and Experimental Music.

Being a passionate chamber musician she performs classically structured music in various formations e.g. in Trio HEL, Ensemble Sargo, Ensemble Nachhall, Celloquartett Arabesque, K-M-S-A, Balduin Hirschteins Hypervitaminosis, and she is a member of the City Light Symphony Orchestra in Lucerne.

In collaboration with the author Noëmi Lerch, she performs musical lectures and was chosen as Pro Argovia Artist 2017/2018.

In 2017 she completed her master studies in «Interpretation in Contemporary Music» and «Instrumental Music Pedaogy» at the Lucerne Music Academy. Main subject: violoncello with Erik Borgir and Peter Leisegang, and chamber music. Master classes among others with L. Fels (Arditti Quartet), H. Lindén-Pons and John Storgård.

In search of the expressional possibilities of her instrument she is interested in the different aspects of the power of music such as its healing impact and its merging possibilities across borders and artistic genres. This specific interest has lead her to the «Ensemble-der-Dinge», a Company of actors, musicians, and further artists,  whose first production  «Pinocchio» is being performed in Swiss theatres. Furthermore she is participating in the project «Building Bridges» that opens the  doors to the music of other cultures and countries, thus encouraging the understanding inbetween cultures through music.
